Happy 7 years to me!! ???
Seven years ago this week, I said, “YES” to an opportunity that I had no clue would change my life the way it did! I am excited to share with you how taking a leap into the unknown has allowed me to use my excuses to now be my WHY to keep going on this journey!
How it all started:
I have always loved fitness, but after having my second babe, I struggled with my weight, with emotional eating, and binging. So I started working on my fitness journey and while I wasn’t quite at my goal yet, I saw the changes… my body, my mindset, and my drive to do something bigger with my life!
I was working out at home, following the program’s nutrition plan, added a superfood smoothie to eat/drink once a day called SHAKEOLOGY, and eating in portions! I loved how I was feeling- the energy I was gaining, the cravings that were decreasing, and how my clothes were fitting!
The opportunity awaits:
I found out there was an opportunity while I was working on my health to help encourage others. All I needed to do was to keep showing up and invite others to join me. I had NO clue taking this leap would allow me the freedom to be home with my kiddos and build an income that was like a “real income.”
As I was building my business, I was helping enough people with their own fitness journey that I was able to replace my full-time nursing salary in just two years, working part-time hours.
I was also able to cut back my hours as a nurse and that is where I started to see the pay-off of working a little more (even though I didn’t “HAVE” the time) to get MORE time. It initially was my excuse, but I turned it into my reason because if I didn’t make the change, NOTHING would change!
Facing the hard part when you change
As I was working more to gain this freedom, my friends started talking. They actually “unfriended” me which is how I knew there was something wrong. When I asked what happened, the answer was, “I am tired of seeing your posts about exercise and healthy food all the time. It’s annoying.”
It was a hard pill to swallow, but I thought, “is being positive, healthy, and doing something good for my family REALLY such a bad thing?” I realized those were the people who sat around gossiping about everyone and their mother and had no desire to do ANYTHING “extra” with their lives. They spent more time talking about what’s wrong with others than trying to do good and make a difference.
It was hurtful, but I had to let it go. I needed to have true friends who accepted me for me and cheered me on when I was doing something good with my life. I continued surrounding myself around positive people who wanted to do BIG things. They wanted to dream big. I wanted to dream BIG.
Change is NOT always a bad thing
So yea, I’ve changed. ??I stopped focusing on others and focused on me and living life with my cup half full, not half empty. I’ve grown tremendously in my faith, I’m also healthier than I ever was before I started this journey and it feels GOOD!
Look, if you don’t change, it’s a sad day! If I’m not changing, I’m not growing and I’m not making a difference!
So 7 years later, I’m so so thankful for the changes I’ve made in my life!
I thought the rest of my life would revolve around swing shifts and missing time and memories with my kiddos. But this online coaching gig has really shown me that my life is so much more than that!
Be the change with me!
If you want to be the change with me, let’s do this because 7 years is me just getting started! ❤️
