Staying on Track over the Holiday Weekend!
How in the heck do you stay on track with your nutrition, especially over the holidays?!?! It’s 4th of July weekend and I know people are about partying, food, and alcohol! But… it doesn’t necessarily have to be unhealthy!! You can still have fun and be clean about your choices of food and drinks!!
I’m leaving for vacation tonight once kids are in bed and I am prepping some food now to take to South Carolina for some get togethers with our team and family!! I want to show you that it’s still possible to travel, go to parties, and be healthy all at the same time!! Sounds like a lot of work huh? Lol
For the road-
It’s easy to say “Oh, I don’t have anything with me, lets stop at a fast food restaurant.” Ummm or NOT!! It’s called, plan and prepare my friends!! It’s easier to plan and have it all with you than to stop, waste time, money, and your body!! Treat your body as a temple, its the only place to live!!
So here are some foods I have prepared for the road:
- Almonds
- Chicken
- String Cheese
- Fresh blackberries and raspberries
- Bananas
- Rice Cakes
- Shakeology
- Water— TONS of it!! You can always stop to pee if you need to!
Whats really cool, is you don’t have to use the excuse that you don’t want to take chicken because you don’t have a fridge… USE A COOLER with ice!! That simple guys!!! How bad do you want it?!?!

Zucchini Pizza
And you know you don’t go to a party without a good chocolatey dessert right?!?
It’s all about moderation, portion control, but having fun with your food too!! You don’t have to eat greasy, fried, unhealthy food to enjoy it!! You just get a little creative!
Most of all, keep in mind that holidays are not about food.. It’s about celebrating the holiday with friends and family and appreciating what we have!!
