My husband was away for 5 days at school and since he usually surprises me with yummy breakfasts and dinners, I decided to surprise him with dinner last night!
I had a couple ingredients that I wanted to use, so I threw together a concoction and I would say it turned out pretty darn good!
1 tube lean turkey sausage
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
8 oz of brown rice penne past/gluten free (or pasta of your choice)
1 stalk asparagus (trim the ends of the spear where the tender part is, and cut into 3’s)
1/2 cup chopped artichokes (I got them already chopped in a jar with oil and seasoning and I do not drain it)
1 small jar (3-4 oz) sun-dried tomatoes in oil, or use 3-4 oz fat-free sun dried tomatoes
2 tablespoons oil from the sun-dried tomatoes jar (or EVOO)
1/2 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 small onion (chopped)
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
3 tablespoon of Avocado Oil (or EVOO)
Himalayan salt to taste
In a medium pan, add tube of sausage, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, and 1 tablespoon EVOO. Cook for 5 minutes, breaking apart into small pieces. After 5 minutes, add pure maple syrup and cook for another 5 minutes on medium high.
In a large pan, on high heat, sautee garlic, onion, mushrooms, basil, sun-dried tomatoes (drained from oil) in 2 tablespoons of oil (reserved from the sun-dried tomatoes jar for 1 minute until garlic is fragrant.
Add the rest of vegetables (asparagus, each sprig cut into 3 slices, and artichoke, sprinkle with a small amount of Himalayan salt, and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until they soften just a little (you still want the asparagus to have a bit of crunch). Also add the sausage mix with vegetables. Mix all together. Add 2 tablespoons of Avocado oil and cook for 2 minute.
Bring a large pan with water to boil and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and rinse the pasta with cold water (to stop cooking).
Place serving of pasta on plate, then add 1 serving of sausage and vegetable mix to top off pasta.
Since all my little man wants to do is eat I need to make sure I am healthy to give him the best of the best. I snuck some milk boosting foods into my super food shake for a yummy way to start my morning
Share with a breastfeeding momma in your life
-1 frozen banana
-1/4 cup quick oats (good source of iron which is very important for anemic mothers. Low iron levels = low supply)
-2 tbsp peanut butter (because it is yummy and also new studies show introducing peanuts at an early age can decrease risk of an allergy)
-1 tbsp flax seed (helps boost supply)
-1 cup milk
-10 ice cubes
-1 scoop of Chocolate Vegan Shakeology
And we know all about holiday travel – we have family sprinkled all around the country.
Eating healthy at the airport is no easy feat, especially if you’re cranky, jet-lagged, lost, or rushing to the gate to make your flight (story of my life).
1. Skip the jerky and energy bars
It’s tempting to assemble a makeshift meal out of a chocolate chip granola bar, salted trail mix studded with yogurt-covered raisins, and pretzels from the newsstand, but resist the urge to load up on salt and sugar. The added sugar from processed foods can lead to blood sugar spikes and crashes, meaning you’ll be jittery one minute and lethargic the next. Lethargic = making more poor healthy decisions.
2. Keep snacks small
The ideal snack should include a lean protein and a whole grain, fruit, or vegetable. Remember the ideal snack looks like 200 calories. Steer clear of processed food such as chips, baked goods, and candy, and opt instead for items packed with fiber and protein to energize you and help keep you full.
Great snack options – whole fruits, unsweetened dried fruit, plain Greek yogurt, string cheese, sliced veggies, air-popped popcorn with no added salt or butter, unsweetened whole grain dry cereal with low-fat milk, or unsalted nuts.
3. Scan menus for lean proteins and veggies
If you find a restaurant in your terminal, be smart when you order. Avoid anything greasy, fried, or fatty, since these foods are, harder to digest and could lead to GI discomfort, especially with prolonged sitting.
Instead, look for proteins like grilled chicken and fish, salads with vinaigrettes instead of creamy dressings, or whole-grain pasta with red sauce. Other good options are turkey sandwiches loaded with veggies, and scrambled, or hard-boiled eggs, with whole-grain toast.
4. WATER WATER WATER!
Skip the liquid calories guys!! Instead of wasting calories on calories that will not help you reach your goals, pick water and add fresh fruits/veggies/herbs that will give it a good taste without taking you off track!
5. Say NO THANK YOU
Please do NOT feel you need say yes and eat all the food around you just to be polite! If you have goals, do not be afraid to say so and ask those around you to help you! Do not give in just because everyone else around you is digging in! Be strong, always keep your goals in mind, and know that temporary satisfactions will only last temporary!! You will live with regret longer if you give in!

Why does Halloween have to be so fun, but yet so unhealthy?!?! I love that we can dress up, let loose, and enjoy decorating and going up to random houses to get candy (HAHA), but I feel this holiday really revolves around people shopping for candy and sweets, and unhealthy food for parties!
So if you are one who has health and fitness goals and are really trying to stay on track during Halloween… I have news for you! YOU CAN STILL ROCK YOUR FITNESS!! It will take some commitment from you, along with holding yourself accountable, and resisting temptations! Those temptations will be everywhere, but think about this…. those temporary temptations are only that.. TEMPORARY!! They do not last forever, but will keep coming back if you keep feeding them!
If you can replace those temptations with a healthier alternative, then your body will not crave those sugary, sweet foods and treats!
If you want to stay strong in your house, but know you struggle in the past during holidays, simply do NOT buy the candy for trick or treaters you would eat!! Either buy candy you don’t like, or buy healthy snacks OR school supplies like pencils or erasers for the trick or treaters!
There is so much sugar in candy, or even in sugary drinks.. so just make the choice to drink water!! That will eliminate any extra added calorie drinks that easily makes you feel bloated or puts on weight because we know… sugar turns into fat when you are not metabolizing it!
Working out is a job.. yes it is.. but its easier than carrying unwanted extra weight you have from not working out! Take 30 minutes to take care of yourself! Its the only body you will ever live in! Be nice to your body, love your body, and treat your body with respect! If you can’t make it to a gym, there are PLENTY of options to do at home while the kids are sleeping or playing beside you.. or use them as weights to workout!!
This is not about starving yourself or making yourself feel like you are in food jail, but you can either use the 3 bite rule, or allow yourself 1 piece! Moderation and portion control is always a WIN! Did you know the first and second bite is always the best, but after that, it’s not something you need to have!! So allow yourself a little, without over doing it and taking steps backward with your goals!
After that one piece of candy or 3 bites, if you are feeling like you want more, simply CHUG water!! Most likely you are not truly hungry, and its more of a boredom feeling or just wanting it because its there.. But most people confuse hunger with dehydration!! Chug water, and that usually helps people get fuller! If your belly is growling and it is true hunger, then grab a piece of fruit or veggie!!
Last but not least, REMEMBER your goals!!! They are there because you care about your health and your body!! So do not let those small temporary cravings and temptations get the best of you!! If you can stay strong, you will be steps closer to that BIG goal!!!

As a former ER nurse, I never though I would ever change careers. I loved what I did and I worked hard to get to where I was in life. But something was missing as I had my boys. I was missing little moments and memories with them that I was never getting back.
I knew I was the only person that would be able to change that though. So as I started working on my fitness journey, I realized how in love with the regimen that was given to me with Beachbody. I got everything I needed to reach my fitness goals and live a healthy lifestyle while showing my kids what a healthy lifestyle looks like. I was exercising just 30 minutes a day, eating clean, and drinking Shakeologywhich is a superfood dense shake that gave me all the nutrients that I cannot get from my typical every day meals. I also had support and daily motivation in the challenge groups/support groups that I was added to by having a Beachbody coach.
As I was getting results I never got even working out at the gym, I decided this is something I can do to help others without having to go to school and leave my kids for more education, but something I can successfully do at home while still working as a nurse to continue motivating myself along my own fitness journey!
As I started sharing my fitness journey and what I was doing as a Beachbody coach on Facebook, I realized there were so many other moms and nurses like me, who want this opportunity to find themselves, get into the best shape, and stay home with their kids while having the availability to build an income for their family!

WHY we use Social Media As a New Beachbody Coach
Now that you heard about Challenge groups, it’s time to find out HOW we grow our business and expand our market.. how do we talk to more people and help everyone, everywhere!!
I know many people may say, I live in a small town, or I don’t know many people, or I have a lot of other coaches or other distributors that are taking over.
Guess what?!? I have great news for you!! Social media gives you the opportunity to expand yourself outside your area, meet new people, and talk to as many people as you want!!
What is great about this also, is again, EVERYONE is on at least 1 social media.. Whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google, Periscope, etc… our mission is NOT to use all of them, but to use 1 or 2 and get really really good so you stand out to other average people that are doing what you are going to be doing!!!
Working FULL TIME and adding Beachbody as a secondary part time
So now you know how we use social media to build our business, but you may be concerned about time. I totally get it! That was one of my biggest fears before I started as a coach. “Do you have to coach full-time to be successful?” is a question I receive often from people who are on the fence about becoming a Coach. People assume that you need to be a full-time coach and that this needs to consume your life in order to see any sort of result from it. This opportunity is completely the opposite of that. It’s up to you what you wish to invest in this, whether you want to invest a few hours before bed, a couple hours throughout your day, an hour in the morning or twenty minutes on your lunch break. The ball is in your court and the decision is yours. Whatever you decide, you can still be successful.
Michael works full time as an engineer and father of 2 boys who are busy in sports throughout the year! He manages his work, home life, kids, and still is able to balance his career with Beachbody Coaching! Being busy just means you need some time management skills and prioritization skills, which we help with in our trainings!
BUSY PEOPLE GET STUFF DONE!! Its all on how bad you want something and if your willing to work to get to the long term reward and freedom at the end!!
How to earn income as a Beachbody Coach
Now it’s time to get talking about the potential for income and financial freedom!
Each person’s income will vary, depending on their own effort and work put into coaching! But we do have coaches that have earned up to a 6 figure income in 1 year of being consistent as a coach! Again, the success depends on YOU, but the sky’s the limit! You do not have anyone telling you how much you can make… the more people you help, the more you grow and the more successful you will become!
What’s great about this company, is you are not only given commission when people purchase a fitness program, supplements, or Shakeology from you, but they also reward you with bonuses when you sign up coaches (working or discount), and for certain rank advances as you are growing your team!
Along with watching this video where I explain more about the compensation plan, I want to share this image just as an example of what can potentially come out of staying passionate and consistent as a coach helping others with their fitness journey! I started coaching while working full time hours as an ER nurse, taking masters classes, and raising a newborn and 1 year old. Myths about Beachbody Coaching

OMGOSH…you’re thinking of becoming a BEACHBODY COACH?!! SAY WHAT???
Please take 2 minutes to read the following:
So….I’m going to COMBAT some of the top, most common apprehensions people have about taking this leap!! Here we go…
* This is a pyramid scheme or scam: NOPE (and ya know, if you thought that…it’s okay..you’re just misinformed) My husband thought this, too, and told me I was wasting my time and money and this would never work….2 months after I got into this, he was apologizing he ever doubted me…or Beachbody!
* You need to quit your job to do this and to get a business off the ground: NOPE. I was teaching 2nd grade full time, writing, doing photography, taking grad classes, had 3 children under the age of 6 at home, a husband…and I was 7 months pregnant with our 4th baby. TOTALLY possible to get a business lifted off the ground while having a busy schedule 😉
* You need to do this to MAKE a business: NOPE. Some do it simply to cover the cost of their Shakeology that they can’t go without. Others use it as a “hobby” who LOVE Beachbody’s products and use the extra income to pay off school loans, make their car payments, use it to pay their mortgage or rent, pay off some credit cards, or maybe even some “fun” money or to put into their savings. Others, like myself, want this as a BUSINESS. In less than 1 year, I was able to leave my teaching job and at age 31, 11 months into the business, I’ve officially RETIRED from teaching for good. And let me tell you, my first 2 months didn’t go as I planned. People were NOT knocking my door down but my coach reassured me that to keep posting and sharing what I was doing. By my 3rd month, things started happening, my consistency was paying off and was reaching and inspiring many. By month 5, I made what I did as a teacher each month, by month 10 that doubled. And now almost a year into it, that has tripled. Every coach’s paycheck is not a “given”. What you put into it is what you get out of it.
*You don’t have the money for this to get started: Let me tell you right now…if ANYONE gets this, please know it’s me. Despite working tons of jobs at once, due to many unpaid leaves for my babies, we were scraping…and I mean BARELY getting by (some months…okay, a LOT of months, going under..it was a plain scary time and didn’t know if we had a way OUT). When I bought my first challenge pack almost a year ago (mine was $140), I had talked with my coach for MONTHS about this…back and forth if I could afford it (which technically I couldn’t), questioned would this work, would I annoy people with my posts…and then I prayed about it for quite some time…I knew in my heart that this is everything I needed in my life. I needed accountability to become the best version of myself; I’m 31 years old, 4 babies in 6 years and I’m in the best shape of my life. I needed, desperately needed the income and wanted to be home with my children. I needed to do something that I believed in and felt like I was making a difference in people’s lives and becoming an inspiration. And I knew if anyone was “bothered” or “annoyed” by my posts, that they needed my prayers and weren’t in the right place or happy with themselves.
I took this leap of faith in becoming a Coach and you know what, a lot of my friends and family doubted this and said I was crazy. I can say almost every single person has come around and apologized and they now say they can’t imagine how different my life would be if I hadn’t gone against the grain and DONE THIS.
This business is about health…it’s about happiness…it’s about changing LIVES. We inspire. We motivate and encourage others. We are acknowledged by doctors in all fields of all ages who are in agreement of how significant a change and impact our products DO have on a person’s health and life. We transform people physically but I gotta tell you, my favorite transformations are the emotional ones…the confidence levels. Personally, INSANITY pulled me out of a post partum depression. It was a total game changer for me, in all aspects of my life, this company!
Can this be a hobby, part-time job on the side that can make you some good pocket cash while getting/staying fit and healthy? ABSOLUTELY.
Can this be a career that can completely change what you do everyday and your family’s financial status. ABSOLUTELY.
Please use this week to throw ALL questions and concerns at us. God has blessed me with SO much in my life…but hands down, THIS was one of the best decisions He has led my heart to do!!
I now feel compelled to personally help as many as I can to be able to achieve what I already have. And for me, I have just scraped the surface. As soon as I hit one goal in this business, I’m ready to CRUSH another.
