So it has been over a week since I posted last and I am sooooo sorry.. I have been trying to get acclimated with having a new baby around… and let me say, it’s different than it was 5 years ago!! Maybe its me being older, or maybe it’s the fact that my little bug doesn’t like sleep!! LOL
Anyways… I am excited to be back and share with you how post-partum life is!! It’s tiring!! But amazing!! I am so in love with this little man and he looks SOOOO much like his daddy it’s unreal!!
As I was looking back at my post-partum journey with my last baby boy, I couldn’t believe the mindset I have this time and how my body is so different… the pictures I am showing you is 6 weeks post-partum with both pregnancies…. the only difference is, I actually took care of my body and health this time around!!
The first image is when I started my fitness journey with Beachbody… I was a full time nurse, taking master’s classes, and had a 6 week old and a 1 year old at home.. I was miserable and hated to even look in the mirror! I ate too much fast food during pregnancy and slacked on working out big time. But I got into my home fitness programs with Beachbody and joined an online accountability support group to help with a free Beachbody coach! The daily accountability and following a regimen with a workout program and nutrition guide made all the difference! I got results, I gained new healthy habits, and I felt good!!
This time around, I maintained everything I learned from my Beachbody journey and continued the healthy eating and exercise throughout my 4rd pregnancy! And it made my pregnancy enjoyable and afterwards, it has helped me with recovering and feeling pretty darn good for just having a baby!! Yes, I had some complications and have not been cleared to workout yet, but hopefully tomorrow I will have some good news from my OB!
Since I have not been working out, I will admit I really struggled with eating healthy the last couple weeks.. I mean, I did better with my pregnancy with eating than the last couple weeks, but I am ready to move on and get over myself lol.. So yesterday, my challenge group that I run for my team and challengers who have fitness goals have inspired the crap out of me, and I decided I am jumping on board with them.. at least with the nutrition part! They are doing the 80 Day Obsession! It is a new fitness program by Autumn Calabrese (fitness expert and bikini competitor) that is done at HOME. It is 80 days long, and focuses on Abs, Arms, and Booty (A$$)!! These ladies are ON IT and in our pre season alone, are already seeing results and learning tons about timed nutrition, using workout blocks, and eating for fuel, not just for the heck of it!! So I needed badly to get my nutrition on point with them!!
Egg whites with 2 yoke, spinach, chicken, and shredded cheese 2 red, 1 green, 1 blue
Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and granola (Kashi cereal) 1 red, 1 purple, 1 yellow
Hard boiled egg whites, fresh veggies, hummus 1 green, 1 blue, 1 red
Of course, most of my food, especially lunches and dinners, I cook and prep in bulk.. so I have sliced sweet potato and tilapia baked with seasoning, chicken, turkey burger, quinoa, brown rice, all ready! And yes, my hubby and kids eat this food with me!

It is so crazy how much of a difference eating healthy will do for your body and how you feel overall!! Just getting strict again was a decision I knew I needed to make for me, but also because I am breastfeeding my baby boy and he is getting the food that I ingest also, so I want him to get the best of the best!

I love making oatmeal bake recipes because they are so easy and perfect for the family or even if you have some company!
So I actually made this for my husband’s army crew that came back from a training recently and it was a hit! My kids even loved it and I have to be honest, they get a little picky when it comes to oatmeal recipes because they love the oatmeal in a packet!
PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL BAKE
1 ½ cups quick cooking oats
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp sea salt or Himalayan salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 overripe bananas, mashed
¼ cup creamy peanut butter (melted in microwave for 30 sec)
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup pure maple syrup
1 large egg, lightly beaten
¾ cup unsweetened, vanilla almond milk or Fair life milk
¼ cup creamy natural peanut butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×9” square baking pan and set aside.
In a small bowl mix together the quick cooking oats, baking powder, salt and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
In a large bowl mix mashed banana and peanut butter together until combined.
Add in the vanilla extract, maple syrup and egg. Mix until combined.
Add the milk and stir..
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 9×9” baking pan.
Melt the extra peanut butter and drizzle on top. I use a knife to make swirls for extra decoration on top!
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Or until the top slightly springs back when touched and the edges are just barely brown!
Cool before digging in! ENJOY!!
This recipe is great to have re heated or even to eat cold!!
My hubby and I were making a meal plan for the week and were thinking of different recipes that we can have as a family! My hubs suggested I make “Dirty Red Beans and Rice”…. and I had NO idea what this was… so I did some research and it sounded pretty interesting! I found a recipe and then hubs decided to add something else.. Kielbasa!! So we went for it, and it turned out really really good!!!
Hope you guys can make this and enjoy it yourself!
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 white or purple onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 cup brown rice cooked according to package
1 package of turkey Kielbasa (chopped)
1 tbsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic salt
1 cup tomato sauce
2 cups chicken broth
1 (15oz.) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook Kielbasa for approx. 5 min or untilslightly brown on each side. Set aside
Sauté the onion and red bell pepper for about 2 to 3 minutes, until they soften slightly.
Add the rice, cajun seasoning and garlic powder, stirring until the rice is slightly browned, about 2 minutes.
Pour in the tomato sauce and chicken broth and stir until combined. Bring mixture to a slight boil. Add beans, stir, then reduce heat to low. Cover the skillet and cook for 15 minutes, or until rice is tender. Stir to fluff the rice. Serve warm. Enjoy!

Hey guys!! So I have realize how inconsistent I have been with my blog, so I’m committing to getting back on track with sharing my journey and tips with you!! As a mom of young kids, military wife and family, and stay at home mom, I know many can relate that life gets crazy, but want to share that keeping that healthy lifestyle is so important and doable even when lives are crazy busy!!!
So I am starting to get more strict with my fitness and prepping for my 3rd figure competition! I am 14 weeks out and am further behind from my last shows, but since I have experience, I’m confident that I can really cut quicker than my first two shows since I know how my body responds.
So here is my meal plan for this week!! This first half of the week, I did incorporate peanut butter, but the second part, I am switching over to PB2. I need to see what changes I can make in 2 weeks to judge if I can have any cheat meals or not or how much of a cheat I can have!
For my workouts, I am using my home fitness programs with Beachbody, along with running and the gym!! I love to mix up my workouts…so getting a variety will help keep my metabolism going and prevent me from hitting a plateau.
Mornings I am doing fasting cardio for 20 minutes 3-4 days a week. Then in the late morning, early afternoon, I am doing other Body Beast, or the gym so I am isolating each muscle group when I am lifting. With Body beast, I am doing bulk phase of the workouts.
As time gets closer, I will be doing HIIT training 3 days a week and some type of fasting cardio 6 days a week, but not quite yet since I’m more focused on muscle mass and too much cardio too soon will mess up my game plan lol.
One of my favorite parts about this prep is I get to have my husband prepping with me!! Well, he’s not doing a show per say, but he has goals so were going to kick butt together and help each other through the cravings, hangriness, and pushing through hard workouts!! And yes, I said HANGRINESS… lol Brent saw it first hand last night… I should have eaten more but I missed a meal and didn’t pack anything so I was really really hungry post workout!!
Anyways… let this fun journey begin!! I am excited to share the good, bad, and ugly with ya and share my changes I make over the next 14 weeks!!!!
Spring is JUST around the corner and I know it has been so easy to hide our body in our clothes from the winter… I don’t know about you, but I am all in for feeling healthy and looking healthy in my sun dresses, tank top and shorts, and bikinis!!
I am so excited that as an online fitness coach, I have the ability to mentor people from all over the US and Canada on their fitness journey by running my private groups in a closed group to help give EVERYTHING needed to reach those BIG fitness goals!!
So many people try on their own and are not successful with their fitness journey for a few reasons…
They lack the nutrition- People cut out carbs, calories, and starve themselves for a quick fix… little do they know, that the weight loss (if it comes off) is only temporary and when you start eating again (because you cant live like that), you gain it back and sometimes more than you lost!
They lack the workout aspect- Nutrition is key, but people do not realize the impact of working out actually does!! You cannot just eat right and expect to get that nice tone body! Exercising increases your metabolism and will help improve your energy, your confidence, and how you feel inside and out!!
They lack support and accountability- So many do not have support… they are on this journey alone which is easy to lose motivation when you struggle.
Maybe these reasons you have failed in your past are relatable. I can say I have failed in my fitness journey so many times!! But I am also proof that you can move past your failures and let your failures be a learning experience to be successful!

So I am like everyone else with a New Year’s Resolution… but I try to make this more of a lifestyle!!!
One of my resolutions is to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle and minimizing the cheat meals each week. I do well with my workouts, but my nutrition can easily fall off as many of you can probably relate!
Now that my wedding day is coming right around corner in a little over 5 weeks, it’s time to get serious!
So I started my new regimen last week with Core De Force, which is our home fitness program with Beachbody! Since I am a fitness coach with Beachbody, it is important for me to lead by example and show others what is is like to live a healthy lifestyle! So I incorporate our home fitness programs that are around 30 minutes a day, along with clean eating! One additive we use into our nutrition isShakeology, which is our superfood health shake and is a meal replacement! You cannot find this quality of a shake over the counter and has amazing benefits… hence me using this for over 4 years now!
As I started Core De Force, I also started with the 3 Day Refresh cleanse just to remove the toxins and junk that I put in my body over the holidays! It was a perfect way to get on track with my nutrition and get me in good eating habits!
There is not a huge difference, but I will say the bloating is gone, and I feel lighter!! I am down 3 lbs and 2 inches! My main goal was to get the toxins out of my body and get focused on my nutrition and let go of the cravings… It was a success!
So now the journey continues! I will be drinking my Shakeology daily, eating clean, and getting in my Core De Force workouts 6 days a week! These are the simple keys to success!! My fiancé Brent and I got engaged on Christmas Eve…. we ALMOST went to JP to get married, but decided we wanted our special immediate family and very very close friends there… just a few!! So we set the date of February 18th, 2017! Yes, that is like 8 weeks to plan our wedding!
To take it a little further, since my fiancé lives in Maine, while I’m in PA, I am doing the planning alone. He gets to FaceTime with me, but it isn’t the same! He will not be transferring to PA National Guard until the end of summer!
But we are still having fun planning and getting ready! In the first week of actually planing (that started last week lol), we confirmed our venue, our flowers, and I got my dress! This week so far, we confirmed our photographer, our catering, and still going strong!
So who says they need 1 year to plan?! HAHA! I feel like I should do this as my second career!!
