So here it is!! I have some vanilla Shakeology hanging around my pantry and since I am a huge Chocolate fan and use it pretty much every day, I felt it was time to change it up a little!!
This Pina Colada Shakeology was a hit tonight for our evening snack to help us from digging into unnecessary items in our fridge and pantry!
8-10 ice cubes
4 oz water
4 oz coconut milk
1 scoop vanilla Shakeology
1/4 cup crushed pineapple
1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend for 30-45 seconds
Top off with a sprinkled unsweetened shredded coconut

I am always up for new yummy recipes, especially for desserts when I get my little sweet tooth kick! This 5 ingredient recipe is pretty simple, yet satisfying!!! Make sure when your bananas go ripe (brown), your not just wasting them and throwing them away!! There are so many things you can do with them.. this is just one of them!!
1 cup natural peanut butter (heat for 30-45 seconds before adding to blender)
I’ve been using Shakeology for over 4 years now since the start of my fitness journey. I will say, I have found my flavor and consistency that I love, so I keep with that pretty much every day.
But I need to switch things up! Try something new and keep things fresh!!
Today I used my Vanilla Shakeology (1 scoop), added 1/2 cup frozen mango (from Aldi) and 1/2 cup fresh strawberries with 6 oz water. I blended in my ninja with 4 ice cubes and whipped that bad boy up!
Always keep in mind, you can workout a lot, but you can’t workout a bad diet! Nutrition is 80% of your results! Clean eating MUST be a part of your lifestyle in order to get the BEST results!

I usually drink my Shakeology post workout to re-fuel my body and repair my muscles after they have been broken down with my workout. If you want to drink your superfood shake another time, I prefer scheduling it in your day with a meal you either have trouble getting in (many forget breakfast), or if you usually eat poor at a certain meal. It is full of vitamins and minerals, and plenty more natural ingredients (click on the link to see over +70 superfoods and how they will benefit your body and health)!
What I love about Shakeology is its not just a protein shake you can pick up at GNC or Walmart (although many stores try to mimic) and you can do more than just make a shake out of it!! I love making desserts, treat, and energy bars too that are nutritious and clean!!

How in the heck do you stay on track with your nutrition, especially over the holidays?!?! It’s 4th of July weekend and I know people are about partying, food, and alcohol! But… it doesn’t necessarily have to be unhealthy!! You can still have fun and be clean about your choices of food and drinks!!
I’m leaving for vacation tonight once kids are in bed and I am prepping some food now to take to South Carolina for some get togethers with our team and family!! I want to show you that it’s still possible to travel, go to parties, and be healthy all at the same time!! Sounds like a lot of work huh? Lol
For the road-
It’s easy to say “Oh, I don’t have anything with me, lets stop at a fast food restaurant.” Ummm or NOT!! It’s called, plan and prepare my friends!! It’s easier to plan and have it all with you than to stop, waste time, money, and your body!! Treat your body as a temple, its the only place to live!!
So here are some foods I have prepared for the road:
It’s all about moderation, portion control, but having fun with your food too!! You don’t have to eat greasy, fried, unhealthy food to enjoy it!! You just get a little creative!
Most of all, keep in mind that holidays are not about food.. It’s about celebrating the holiday with friends and family and appreciating what we have!!

It almost looks to good to even believe its healthy right?!? Guess what? There are alternatives to everything so you can make your food healthy!! It’s all about trial and error until you find what works for you!!
I found this recipe from a friend and it was simply amazing!!
2 8 oz packages of light cream cheese (be sure its at room temperature)
2 8 oz Greek Yogurt (I used one 8 oz of vanilla and 1 8 oz plain)
2 eggs and 2 whites
2 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like to add more nutrition so I use Vanilla Shakeology)
1 tsp vanilla extract
24 grams splenda
Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees
Mix all ingredients together using a hand mixer. Make sure filling is smooth
Add filling to 8 inch pie pan. If you want to get a little unhealthy, you can make your own crust by using low fat graham crackers crushed (1.5 cups) with 1 tbsp I can’t believe its not butter or even better… I used 1.5 cups of special K cereal crushed with I can’t believe its not butter. Be sure its completely flat onto pie pan.
Bake for 30 minutes at 250.
Then turn up to 325 and cook for 20 minutes.
Then turn back down to 250 and cook for 20 more minutes. Total cook time is 70 minutes.
Let cook and ENJOY!!

Ok, so who doesn’t love desserts??? I know my peanut butter and chocolate addiction can get very bad!! When I was younger, I would literally eat Reese cups DAILY!!! Pathetic, but fortunately I have found my chocolate replacement… SHAKEOLOGY!! This has not just helped me get my veggies in since I despised them, gave me the nutrients I need, but has helped my cravings in so many ways!!
I am not here to throw out another “diet shake”, “weight loss shake”, or “protein shake” because it is NONE of those! You must eat clean!! This is simply a Health Shake that is giving you more nutrition than you get from you typical every day meals.. give you a meal with a good protein to carb ratio that will keep you fuller longer.
Alright, so lets get to the chase… I know you are not suppose to heat Shakeology (it will cause it to lose its nutritional value), BUT when you are ready to binge on a nice 1000 calorie desert, Im all about heating this bad boy up and making it into a chocolate lava cake!!
For Lava Cake:
1 scoop chocolate Shakeology
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or skim milk
1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp Natural Peanut butter
In a microwavable bowl, add lava cake ingredients, mix together, and place in microwave for 45 seconds
While cake is warming, mix icing ingredients together
Place bowl with lava cake upside down to remove from bowl and place on plate.
Top off with Icing
How easy is that?!?! Seriously, it satisfies your cravings like no other!!! I was so close to going to grab some ice cream and I know I would’ve felt so guilty!! This is your chance to eat guilt free and eat closer to your fitness goals!!!
Why do I think of making these recipes prepping 2 weeks out from my show?!?! LOL… Call me crazy I guess!! I promise I did not eat any, but wanted to make them for my kids and hubby for a nice treat!!! 🙂
Total Time: 3 hrs Prep Time: 10 min. Cooking Time: None Yield: 8 servings, 1 bar each
½ ripe medium banana, mashed Nonstick cooking spray
Preparation: 1. Combine Shakeology, oats, and Whey Protein Powder in a large bowl; mix well. 2. Add peanut butter and banana; mix well with a spatula or clean hands. 3. Place in an 8 x 8-inch pan that is lightly coated with spray. Cover with plastic wrap and press down to flatten into pan. Freeze for 3 hours. 4. Cut into 8 bars.
ENJOY!! This is a perfect treat to take to parties, work to share with co-workers (as a nurse, you would see our break room is full of unhealthy treats)!
