Start Your Health and Fitness Journey Today!

So many people today are lacking motivation, and commitment to start their healthy lifestyle? WHY?! Because we are busy, and give time and money as our two biggest excuses not to follow through.  We do not have the support we need daily to stay strong during those tough times, but I am so happy to say there IS hope!!

Going through my own journey, I had a tough time finding something that worked for me… something I could stick with.  I was desperate and after the FAD diets were not keeping my weight off and not keeping me happy, I was ready to give up.  Then, something amazing came into my life.  My cousin who is a Beachbody coach asked me to join her fitness challenge group… I thought, “Oh here we go, another diet.”  Once I looked into it more and saw the results she got from doing the same, I decided to give it a shot… I mean whats the worst that can happen?? I would end up in the same unhappy spot I started in. 

After 30 days, I was amazed at how a 40 minute workout program (INSANITY) and drinking a health shake full of your superfood dense nutrition such as SHAKEOLOGY, and clean eating can really change your life that quick!  I realized between all of these factors I added into my life, and having the support and daily accountability is what made all the difference! I’ve tried reaching my goals, and it was not fun… but having others with the same or similar goals as you working towards the same thing makes it so much more fun and helpful!

Now I’ve been able to continue my journey and have reached my ultimate goals! I’ve learned it’s not all about the scale, but how you feel inside and all the other non scale successes (your clothes fitting, inches lost, bloating gone, healthy cravings, healthy skin, confidence, and energy).

Can I get a ‪#‎throwbackthursday‬?!?! Seriously, as I was at the gym today, I was thinking back to the beginning of my fitness journey.. Its pretty amazing in how my life has changed since Beachbody became a part of my life… The first picture was day 1 of the very first challenge group I started… I did Insanity and drank Shakeology and incorporated clean eating… As the days went on, I found myself reaching goals I never thought I could achieve… I was feeling better than I ever thought I could feel… I continued moving from program to program and challenge group to challenge group and even when I signed up as a Beachbody coach right in the middle of my journey, I participated in my challenge groups to stay accountable of my own goals. Although I reached my goals, Im always working on my journey. I will continue working every day to keep myself happy, confident, and healthy!

The middle picture was the day I committed to prep for my first NPC Figure Competition… I am pretty proud to say I got myself here by ONLY using Beach body programs- Insanity, P90X, P90X3, 21 Day Fix, T25, Turbo Fire, and Shakeology religiously to give me the proper nutrition I needed.. and if you want to know for sure, YES, it makes a difference! Nutrition is 80% of your weight loss, and what I was eating was not giving me half the nutrients and superfood I was intaking with the regular fruits, veggies, and protein I ate. This lifestyle with Beachbody has totally given me what I needed to begin my journey as a figure competitor. 


Today, the last picture was taken as I was practicing my posing and I am getting so nervous, but yet so excited at the same time to get on that stage! I know I am giving it 110% and although I have had a little too many servings of whipped cream and PB2, I know I have made up with my workouts!! As I incorporated weight training into my lifestyle, I built up my deltoids, back, and quads and now am starting to feel pretty good about how far I have come! I still to this day and incorporating Shakeology once daily with my competition diet, and I use 1 Beachbody program DAILY as my cardio- T25, 21 DAY fix cardio or plyo, Insanity, and Body Beast. It feels good to feel this sense of accomplishment…


Im not in no way, shape, or form bragging or boasting, I am simply looking back and reflecting on how unhappy and uncomfortable I was in my own skin, and now am so proud to say after giving it 100% with exercise and nutrition and believing in myself, I have made a healthy lifestyle for myself, but also have made an impact on my children!! This is what its all about!!

Healthy Honey Roasted Pecans

So I have been craving those really fattening sugary coated pecans and decided, I can do them myself without feeling so guilty! So I gave it a whirl, and it totally helped my cravings!! This was so darn easy and is even a great side to take to a party!!

HONEY ROASTED PECANS- Healthy version!

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups dry raw pecans
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp truvia or stevia
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
  2. Mix all ingredients in bowl
  3. Lay pecans on cookie sheet spread out and bake for 15 min
  4. ENJOY!!!!
As you will notice, you do not need to drown your food in butter and sugar to taste good!! Healthy alternatives to everything!!!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust (clean)

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups cooked, riced cauliflower (1 head of cauliflower)
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (2 1/2 for crust, plus more for topping)
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning (or dried oregano as substitute)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Toppings of your choice

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Prepare pizza pan or cookie sheet with non-stick spray or olive oil.
Cut off florets of cauliflower in to medium sized chunks and discard the large stems and leaves.  Place in food processor and pulse a second at a time until cauliflower resembles rice (careful to not puree by over-processing).  Place the diced cauliflower in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, get to preparing any toppings that require cooking.  You will want to make sure all toppings are cooked beforehand.
When cauliflower is done cooking in the microwave, let it cool a bit before adding the rest of the ingredients (we don’t want to scramble our beaten egg!).   Add 2 1/2 cups shredded cheese, the beaten egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and olive oil to the cauliflower and mix well.
Pour out on to the pizza pan and spread out in to a 3/4″ thick circle with a spoon and/or rolling pin.  Clean edges up by patting towards inside of the pie to avoid any thinner spots that may overcook.  Place in 400 degree oven and bake 25 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Once finished, allow to cool for a few minutes before adding toppings – this will help it firm up a bit.  When you’re ready, place back in the oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Enjoy with your favorite toppings!!!  
P.s. I Recommend using lots of veggies to keep it healthy!!

Getting over the Fear of Failing!

As I talk with people (my fellow coaches and challengers), I am seeing many people are getting held back by the fear of failing.  I know thinking of failing can be very scary, BUT isn’t it failing if you don’t even try?
Whether it be physical or mental, you never know what you can accomplish until you do it.  Here is just an example.  I was sent a message and asked if I can do a one-handed hand stand. .. Right away I’m thinking heck, I use to do them all the time.  I would practice and practice and was able to without a problem.  
So I figured, Im in better shape than ever so I asked my husband to take a picture for me while I do it! His answer was… Um.. that’s too hard you are not going to pull that off but good luck.  
If that was not the motivation I needed, then I don’t know what was! 
My next step was not to let him get to me and end it with I can’t… HECK NO!! That was exactly what I needed to hear. I took it and made it positive.  I ran upstairs, got workout clothes on, and started going.. Yes, I fell a couple times, BUT this girl here got right back up! When someone tells me I cannot do something, I use that as a motive to work harder, to prove people wrong, and to make them feel sorry for doubting me! As he watched me over and over.. fall a couple times, then saw I was actually able to hold myself up, it was like he had completely did a 180! He was so impressed and then said, “I’m sure I can do this too, it can’t be too hard.”  Then made his attempt. After he was unable to do it, it was like he had this respect for me that he did not have when he was doubting me inside.  
Once you show people you are not afraid of failing, and you practice and work hard towards what you truly want to achieve, things change and you are viewed in a different way.. Like you have gained more respect from the people around you.
I do not believe in quitting.. failure.. or letting people make the answer for you.
Everything you act upon is completely YOUR decision and will only have an affect on YOU! 
Me quitting and just saying, ya your right, I can’t do that. would only let him win, and me never know if I am truly capable of accomplishing this!  If you fear you are not going to have the ability to follow through, again, you will never know and yes, failing will be in your future.  Failing is one thing NOT in my future.. WHY?? Because I know I have complete control and I will NOT allow failure to happen!
Then once I was able to do my one move I wanted to do so bad, I move one.. WHY STOP THERE!? Once you set goals and reach them.. you set more goals! If you don’t set goals, life would be totally boring right?! So what I do is set more and more goals, once those are achieved, I move on to something else.
What I am getting at is.. The sky is the limit! 
Live life full of energy, making goals, practicing at the things that mean the most to you, and reach your goals! The feeling of accomplishment is the most amazing feeling that EVERYONE should be able to feel! There is a trick to this as well.. To reach your goals you need one thing.. POSITIVITY!!
If you stay positive and believe in yourself, you will go all the way.. If you doubt yourself and do not stay positive, you are setting yourself up for failure!
POSITIVE POSITIVE POSITIVE!!

Focus T25 and tips on how to reach your Fitness goals!!

I
cannot believe I only have 2.5 more weeks of FOCUS T25!! It has been an awesome
journey so far!! I have been right on with my workouts, and meals have been
great other than this holiday weekend, BUT its over and Im back in the game!!  Some people tend to fall off track after
having a bad weekend, but it is important to stay focused and keep your goals
in mind!! You won’t reach them by wishing that’s for sure!!

Here
is how I make sure I stay on track throughout the week:

  • Meal
    plan- I plan out what I eat each week, then I am not left confused and out of
    time and full of excuses!!
  • Pack
    extra snacks- If you pack extra just in case of an emergency, you are again,
    not going to run into excuses of I had nothing good in front of me!
  • WATER-
    Drink water, and have extra with you!! You should be having your body weight
    divided by 2 and make it into ounces!! That is what you should have DAILY!!
  • Eat
    every 3 hours- Keep your metabolism going! Fuel your body with energy!! If you
    go too long without eating, your body will eventually go into starvation mode
    and start using muscle and store fat!! We are trying to get rid of it, not keep
    it!!
  • Eat
    breakfast – EVERY day!!!! If you eat breakfast daily, you are again, increasing
    your metabolism, you stay full longer, and you tend to crave less!! I use SHAKEOLOGY as my breakfast because it is an entire meal replacement full of
    dense nutrition (ALL NATURAL) and easy and convenient!! If you don’t  have time, this is perfect!! If your not use
    to eating breakfast, this again is perfect!!
  • Exercise
    regularly- Exercising at least 3 times a week is going to help increase your
    metabolism and help you build muscle!! Muscle burns fat right?!? You want to be
    strong right?? You want to look younger right?? Here you go!!
  • Sleep-
    If you do not get enough sleep, you are adding stress to your body which then
    prevents people from losing weight.  Try
    to get at least 8 hrs of sleep a night and make sure it’s a good sleep! Turn
    off the tv and your 3 alarms.. FYI my husband does this and its quite
    annoying.. lol If you wake up to turn off your alarm, you never go back to a
    full blown sleep, so why do it every 5 min?!?! JUST WAKE UP THE FIRST TIME !!!
    HAHA this seriously gets me EVERY time!!
  • Last
    but not least STAY POSITIVE!!! So seriously, if you don’t have a positive
    mindset, you will eventually talk yourself out of anything!! You HAVE to be
    positive and BELIEVE in yourself or you will NOT succeed!! Bottom line! When
    you stay positive, you automatically talk your-self into up and work harder! If
    you have a hard time staying positive on your own, join a challenge group where
    you have others around you giving you support and encouragement!! I run
    challenge groups every month and they turn out successful every time!! My
    challengers get AMAZING results and end up with higher self-esteem, confidence they
    never had, and POSITIVE outlook!!! You never know until you try!! What’s the
    worst that can happen, you find a new lifestyle and body?! Doesn’t sound bad to
    me!!!















This is my before and after picture which I actually won 500$ for my transformation by Beach Body!! I was in challenge groups myself and continued coaching others in my own challenge groups to help keep myself motivated and accountable for reaching my goals! I followed my tips above and I succeeding!! Now it’s your turn!!

Team Beach Body-My Transformation

One
year ago, I was completely unhappy and Im not going to lie, FAT.  I was happy with my beautiful family, But
inside, I felt miserable.  I was
uncomfortable with my body, even in front of my husband.  Let me ask you a question.. How do you expect
someone to love you if you cannot love yourself?
I had
to do something, and it had to be quick.. Not a quick fix though.  I wanted to just completely change my life
altogether… More like a LIFESTYLE change! I knew if I did Adkins, or even
Medifast, once your done with those diets, that weight comes right back on one
way or another.. You simply cannot live off that food.. Well some of it is not
even real food.  I LOVE my food and did
not want that taken away from me. 
So I
decided one day after my cousin who is a BEACH BODY COACH contacted me to join
one of her CHALLENGE GROUPS with BEACH BODY. 
I was skeptical just because there are so many fad diets out there and
did not have money to just blow… I mean come on, I have 2 small children both
in diapers, we were building a house, I was taking Master’s classes, and
working in the ER. How could I possibly afford to eat healthy right? 
I just
one day decided to take a leap of faith after being so disgusted with myself and
start the challenge. So I started with INSANITYand drinking SHAKEOLOGY once a
day. The workouts would help increase my metabolism, and the SHAKEOLOGY would
be 1 meal a day to replace full of nutrition, so that would really help me with
the nutrition aspect. 

After 30
days, I was losing lbs inches, but even more importantly, I was gaining energy,
losing my cravings, and my digestive system was improving! These shakes were
actually making a difference, and the fact that they are so easy and convenient
for me, especially when Im at work and on the go helps sooooo much!  This was such a motivation for me to keep
going!  Of all the times I spent in the
gym getting nowhere, I’m finally finding something that works for me!!
So
here I am now,  a yr later, 40 lbs
lighter, and in the best shape of my life. 
I have learned from my challenge group how to eat clean, and take care
of myself, along with finding the motivation in me to follow through with my
goals! I have been drinking my SHAKEOLOGY
 for breakfast or snack EVERY DAY.
I now am
a BEACH BODY COACH!  I hold CHALLENGE
GROUPS for everyone else, to give back what was given to me… The ability to follow
through and succeed.  To reach your
ultimate goals, to make that lifestyle change! 

All

Chocolate Shakeology Pie

Chocolate SHAKEOLOGY Pie


This
peanut buttery chocolate pie is rich in flavor but low in calories.
Total
Time: 1 hr., 10 min.
Prep
Time: 10 min.
Yield:
8 servings

Ingredients:
• 2
scoops Chocolate Shakeology
• 1
container tofu, silken firm (approx 12 oz.)
• ½
cup natural peanut butter
• 2
Tbsp. skim milk
• 1
premade whole-grain graham pie crust

Preparation:
1
Place peanut butter, tofu, Chocolate Shakeology, and milk in blender. Blend
until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if necessary.
2.
Pour into pie crust and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.

SHAKEOLOGY NO BAKE COOKIES

 
Total Time: 10 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: None
Yield: 25 cookies
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-natural peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup raw honey
  • 1 cup Chocolate Shakeology
Preparation:
1. Combine peanut butter, oats, honey, and Shakeology in a medium bowl; mix well.
2. Roll mixture into 24 balls, each about 1-inch in size.
3. Flatten each slightly so that it is shaped like a traditional cookie.

New Challenge Group, great start to a new week!

Yesterday
was the start of yet another challenge group that I am so excited about!! These
people are so motivated to reach their goals and I am loving the positivity in
this group!!!

You
may be wondering… what exactly are challenge groups??
Challenge
groups are 60 or 90 day support groups that I make on face book that helps
people stay motivated and holds them accountable to reach their health and
fitness goals.  This is a closed group that
only the members of the group can see.  I
post daily motivational posts, nutrition and health tips, recipes, and even
help with meal plans, so you have the opportunity to maximize your results and
learn the right way to make that lifestyle change!  
On your end, your job is to pick any Beach Body program of your choice and follow the schedule, eat clean, and drink SHAKEOLOGY once daily! This is going to improve your overall health and really give you the best results! You want 100% results, the tools are right in front of you!!
This is not about a diet just to get into
bikini season.. This is a long term, in it for the long run type of
change.  Its learning how to stay
committed to yourself and learn a lot of self-discipline.  What I love about these groups, is you not
only learn this new lifestyle, but you learn so much about yourself! 
I run
these challenge groups every month, so if you are interested in making that
change, I would love to have you in my group! 
I limit my groups to 5 people per challenge, this way I can focus on
each as an individual. 

So,
since my new challenge group started, I become even more motivated, which I do
not even know how I do that because I thought I was at my max, but I surprise myself
each time! Today was a great day and had some awesome workouts, and awesome
meals!


I woke
up this morning at 5am, got my workout in and posted in all my challenge groups!!
My workout today was T25 Beta Dynamic Core. 
Definitely worked up a sweat!

I ate
protein berry pancakes, which are sooo yummy and easy to make!! 






Snack
was Shakeology with PB2 and unsweetened vanilla almond milk

































Lunch
was Whole wheat English muffin pizzas ( I used mushrooms, onion, and red
pepper) which is also another easy meal and awesome when your craving pizza!!

I did
slack off on the rest of the day, I had nothing until after my Fit Club, which
was a protein bar.  Overall, not bad
though! I feel great, and btw did another T25 workout at Fit Club! So I
definitely burned calories today!

Start of Beta Phase- Focus T25

Today
is the 2nd day into my second half of FOCUS T25!! This is the Beta
round, and holy moly its intense! For only 25 minutes, that is the most I have
ever worked out for that amount of time!

Yesterday, I did T25 (Core Cardio) in the morning at 4am before going to work for 7am, then worked until 530 and went straight to FIT Club at 630.  Fit Club is a fitness class my friend/fellow coach and I hold together as a support group to help keep people accountable and motivated!  We are both nurses and work the same job, so we just leave one job and go right to another! I love this picture because this is us! Its real life and what we are really like. We are moms, nurses, fitness coaches, and love every part of our lives/careers! This is what keeps up going is by sharing our knowledge and motivation with others to help them reach their health and fitness goals! 

Today, my workout was Speed 2.0 and is definitely an increase in speed!! 

My
meals have been great!  I have my SHAKEOLOGY for breakfast both yesterday and today since I worked at 7 am, I
like to have my shake for breakfast.

I have
been eating a lot of grilled chicken, spinach salads, veggies and hummus, and
more chicken!! My liquid intake is water and I have been getting 60 oz each
day.  I do need to increase that
slightly, and I have been drinking my Green Tea when I have a craving coming
on!
Tonight
for my dinner, I had chicken and sweet potato fries, which were awesome!
How to
make SWEET POTATO FRIES:
Cut Sweet Potato into long slices
Pour 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil on top
and mix up with sweet potatoes
Sprinkle either Himalayan Salt or Sea Salt
on top

Bake @ 400 degrees for 35 min or until
cooked to your liking!
